ACCOMMODATION IN AND AROUND WISHAW

Wishaw is not known as a major tourist destination, but it is world-famous as the location of The Belfry – one of the world’s most prestigious golf destinations and for many years the home of the European leg of the Ryder Cup.

Its only other real claims to fame are that [1] Jeremy Beadle - 'Watch Out!, Beadle's About' - is reputed to drink in the local pub and [2] it was apparently the setting for one woman’s single-handed campaign against a mobile phone giant, and her ongoing objections to the siting of a 74-foot high telephone mast, which encouraged other protests across the globe, and resulted in its eventual removal.
Accommodation in Wishaw includes bed and breakfast, farmhouse accommodation, self-catering holiday cottages and a world-famous golf spa hotel.
